PHP is Fun

I’ve been trying to learn more PHP over the last week and it’s actually been pretty fun! We’re starting to progress a little in college to and we’re now working with PHP and MySQL. So far I have created a database which you can search, add new rows and hopefully by the end of today, update.
At first everything seems a little daunting - and still is - but like anything, the more you do it the easier it becomes. When creating scripts and such to interact with my database, I’m mostly looking back to what I’ve done previously, then copying it down. Hopefully as I get a little better I will be able to do it from memory, though, that could be some time away.
I really want to put my limited PHP knowledge into practice: I want to create a website which people will visit and use, while incorporating some sort of Database. I could then create a very light back-end system allowing me to search, edit and add new entries into the database. But, what type of website should I create? That’s the question I can never answer and I find it so difficult to think of anything. Maybe someone can help me out?
Regards,
Steven
I agree coding is very fun, but you shouldn’t spend money on a website just so you can put your coding skills to use. You can always build test applications on your computer, or on a server. They don’t have to be live. If you want to run a website, the idea should come first.
