Todays Events

Today started off pretty dull, but I wanted to do something. But, I had that annoying thing happen to me again today; not knowing where to go for some snaps! After much deliberation I decided to go to Irvine. Thankfully the weather started to brighten up a little at 12:30… ish.

There I was, walking a long the soft, sandy beach with the wind blowing in my face. Camera wrapped around my neck and being followed by a flock of seagulls. Now, I swear they play the “let’s see who can shit on him first, game”. They follow you around for a little, swooping past multiple times trying to get the right angle to land one right on your forehead! The beach isn’t as nice as it sounds either: I found dumped TV’s, part of a sofa, lighter fuel, bottles of beer and the remains of a fire. It really could do with being cleaned up. Anyhow… I did get some nice shots, I’ll post them up over next week, so keep an eye out :)

I then decided to go to a Castle which is fairly close to where I live (Dundonald Castle). I took a few snaps then practised some parkour! Well, I didn’t really, I jumped around a little, done a few vaults and run and jumping up walls. There was one which was pretty high, really high in fact. I managed to get up by running and jumping up, then pulling myself up. I sat at the top for around ten minutes trying to figure out a way to get down! Thankfully I managed to get down without hurting myself.

Parkour/Free Running is something I would love to do, but there’s a big risk factor in it. You could seriously injure yourself really easily, but then, what’s life without risks? At the moment I’m trying to develop a good handstand. I can manage a few seconds, but that’s it! I’m going to aim 5 seconds by this time next month! It’s not much, but it’s an improvement.

Until next time,
Steven
